Watercolor markers

Tips for Using

What are watercolor markers used for?

They're great in sketchbooks and for creating watercolor effects when water is added.

Start with good paper

If you're adding water, use watercolor paper. Lower quality paper can develop a weird texture.

Don't use a ton of water

Excess water can cause blooms.

Scribble on scrap paper to clean a marker

If your markers get dirty, scribble until the color is correct.

Blend with Markers

Color with the darker color, then add the lighter color on top to blend.

Color on a Palette and Add Water

This will create "watercolor" to paint with.

Use a Blending Marker

Draw with the marker and use a blending marker to soften the edges.
