Feel free to use your own favorite brushes and colors to create a unique flower illustration.
Easy Flowers to Draw with Procreate
Brushes Used:
- 6B Pencil (found under sketching)
- Niko Rull (found under painting)
- Mercury (found under inking)
Colors Used:
You can type each color hex code in or download this color palette and use the eyedropper tool to add each color.
- Make a new canvas 8.5″ x 11″, 300 DPI.
- Import the template or sketch your own flowers using the 6B pencil. I like my pencil set to about 50% for creating thick sketching lines. I also like to use a contrasting color. I chose dark blue to stand out from my color palette.
- Create a new layer and move the sketch layer to the top.
- On the new layer, use the Niko Rull brush to color in the areas. Create a new layer for each color. It’s okay to color outside of the sketch lines. The brush is rectangle-shaped, so it’s difficult to get perfect lines anyway.
- When all of the areas are colored in, create a new layer over the first color, set it to multiply, and select that color again.
- Use the Mercury brush to create linework for the details. Repeat this step for every color.
- Turn the sketch layer off and evaluate your illustration. Go into each colored layer and delete any excess marks.
